Glasgow is art on a steam engine. A
locomotive of modern tapestries
spinning and pulsing through
ancient visages.
Glasgow is the lover holding
firmly to piquant memories,
wary of new enticements,
yet yielding.
An assortment of tongues, wee inflections
of native and immigrated babbles
animating quaint pubs and
designer stores.
But Glasgow’s weather is a mercurial
gut – belches, spits, pisses, pukes,
farts, in motleys of moods and
wet tantrums.
Yet, the greens, the hills, and the serpentine
River Clyde stretch like computer
screensavers in high resolutions of
sublime awe.
An easel of mystiques sustained in Gothic
spikes, shimmering cobblestones, and
necropolises of Gaelic greatness
and legends.
Glasgow is poetry chiming from the Cathedral
organ. Harmonies bellowing to majesty and
modesty. To higher glories and
human delights.
